Bryan U Employee Spotlight: Julie Crooks, Talent Acquisition Partner

This month’s Bryan University employee spotlight is Julie Crooks. Julie has been in Human Resources for over twenty years and has worked in all aspects of HR, but she says, “at this stage in my career, I find recruiting is the most rewarding.” Julie has worked for BU as a Talent Acquisition Partner for the last seven months; she worked for BU earlier in her career for about three years.

“I love putting people in the right seats on the BU bus.” Julie loves the feeling of value that comes from being a member of the BU team. The idea that employees can express themselves freely is also fundamental to her. Julie connects with the notion that the BU mission is humanitarian and that the administration cares about “liberating the innate greatness” of all who choose the BU path.

Julie strives to have others feel valued when they are with her. She works hard to ensure others feel heard, seen, and understood. Because of that, the BU Core Value of “Deliver Delight Every Time” resonates with Julie. “I truly value hospitality and being gracious.” 

Working at BU is inspiring for Julie. She appreciates the collaborative culture and spirit at BU and the shared teamwork across the university. “Having Eric Evans at the helm inspires me to learn and overcome obstacles, most of which are self-imposed.”
