Bryan University Administrative Medical Assisting Graduate Adria Salazar

Get to know Adria Salazar, a graduate of Bryan University’s Associate Degree in Administrative Medical Assisting. Adria was working as a caregiver when she decided she wanted to start moving up in her field, so she completed BU’s Clinical Medical Assisting Certificate program and moved on to the Associate Degree.

Adria found Bryan University while searching for online schools after she tried other schools and found that they just weren’t the right fit for her. She needed something that was flexible with her busy schedule as a full-time employee and mother.

“I can get everything done on my own time,” she said. “I have two kids. I work 16-hour shifts. It was easy to kind of fit in with an already very busy life.”

She said she knew it was the right choice for her from the beginning, from the way she interacted with the admissions representatives and the support she received from her instructors. “Every time I have a question, they’re right there. They email me right away, and then they set up a Zoom.”

Her biggest challenge while completing her program was setting a schedule to get her work done and sticking to it. She said her daughter helped her by setting up “homework time” where they would do their homework together.

Her advice to someone considering BU is just do it. “They set so many goals for you. And you can set your goals for yourself. It’s amazing to go to Bryan University because of how supportive everybody is. I would just say do it. I know it’s hard, but just go for it.”
