Bryan University Employee Spotlight: Experiential Learning Designer Sarah Celmer

Sarah Celmer Bryan University Employee Spotlight

At Bryan University, student success is at the heart of everything we do and it wouldn’t be possible without our incredible team members. This month, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on Sarah Celmer, an Experiential Learning Designer at BU!

Sarah first joined BU in 2017 as a part-time team member and transitioned to full-time last year. In her role, she partners with subject matter experts to design engaging, effective curriculum for our students.

“I focus on creating engaging learning experiences by identifying opportunities for student interaction, active participation, and real-world application of knowledge,” she said.

Instructional design blends both art and science, and Sarah loves the creative process of designing meaningful learning opportunities for students. Her favorite part of the job is knowing that her work directly supports student success. She’s also passionate about continuing to grow in her role and learning new ways to enhance the student experience.

Sarah says her team truly embodies BU’s Win Together core value. “As the newest person to the team, I know I can reach out to each of them for guidance or collaboration or even lunch!” she said. “Even though the work is remote, I still feel a strong team presence, I’m supported, and my team is always available.”

Outside of her role at BU, Sarah enjoys a number of hobbies, from hiking and photography to reading and taking in a great view.

“With a busy family life, I like to relax at the end of the day,” she said.

She’s also a proud sports mom! One of her sons is a Special Olympics athlete who participates in a variety of events, while her other sons also play hockey and her husband coaches. For the Celmer family, it’s a true hat trick of coaching, cheering, and celebrating. Sarah loves being part of the hockey community and never misses the chance to enjoy a game.

Each month, we shine a light on one of our amazing team members through the Bryan University Employee Spotlight. Every employee is eligible. Want to join our team? Explore Careers at Bryan University
