Her career path has changed since then, but she says her experience at BU helped her feel prepared to work in the industry.
Camy said her experience learning online at BU was more challenging than she expected it to be.
“They were super super helpful with extensions or anything that I really needed. If I had any questions they were there,” she said.
In addition to her instructors, she said her student advisor was always there if she needed her. “She was amazing in everything. Anytime I had any problems, she was there. She always answered her phone when I called. She was wonderful,” she said.
Her favorite part about learning online was being able to re-watch videos and resubmit work until she mastered it.
“Being able to go back and look at something again. If I know I messed something up, or anything like that. It was always right there for help,” she said.
Since graduating from her program at BU, Camy’s career path has shifted – she’s now pursuing her radiology technician license.
She said she felt prepared to work in the healthcare field after completing her program at BU, and she said some of what she learned had carried over into her current program.
“I felt 100% more prepared, and when I went to take my exam I scored well over what I thought I was going to.”
She said learning at BU didn’t just make her feel confident working in the field, but she’s using those new skills at home to care for family members.
Her advice to anyone thinking about taking the same program is to, “study and go over everything before the test as much as you can, but do not study the day before, ” — she feels like that makes you second guess yourself.
